Coulee Kids Equipment

The Coulee Kids started podcasting with an iBook. We didn't have any fancy equipment. We used the built in microphone found on our computer. In fact, a lot of times, we still do!

Here is a list of supplies you need if you want to begin podcasting.
1. A Macintosh computer operating GarageBand or iMovie.
2. A program for creating and posting your .xml files. Our teacher has always used Feeder from Reinvented Software.
3. A server to hold all your files.

A mac.com account is also an excellent starting point for an easy podcasting solution.

For portability, or out of classroom recording, we use the following:
1. An iPod
2. A Griffin iTalk Recorder

If you want to improve the quality of your podcast, we go by the recommendations of the Ted Lai, sound expert and co-author of the book Macintosh iLife 06 in the Classroom. He recommends the following:

1. Samsung CO3U
2. Samsung QU1
3. Rode Podcaster Microphone - This is supposed to be the best!
