Dedicated to Maureen Kinney for stopping the city making a highway through the marsh and helping wetlands and marshes all over the country. Not caring only for herself, but for animals, birds and other people.

Having Fun, Watching the Environment
By Zack A

Looking at the marsh
With an enjoyable glance
Hopefully it won’t change,
And I can have another chance
Watching the birds
Seeing them have fun
When the pollution comes,
I will see almost none
Cars will fly by
I’ll stare at the fields with a large “sigh”
Imagining that I could see these colorful birds fly
When walking, glancing at the ground
Each long step, I hear a crunchy sound
Picking it up, one piece by one
I hope the city doesn’t think that they won
In my words I would say they lost
They didn’t get the road
So the line was not crossed
Good thing that this was just a bad dream
About taking these bids and animals away
Because you can’t take back these animals, that’s how it seems
